Shooting starts in Rajini's first period film

Deepika Padukone - AFP
Deepika Padukone - AFP
After his mega hit 'Endhiran-The Robot', 'Superstar' Rajnikant will now enthrall his die-hard fans with a triple role in his first period film 'Rana', which went on floors here on Friday.
The 60-year-old actor will be romancing Bollywood damsel Deepika Padukone in her first venture in the multi-crore Tamil film industry. Rajnikant will be joining hands with director K S Ravikumar, a combination often described as ‘successful and sureshot’ in the industry.
They had earlier churned out the megahit film 'Padayappa' besides 'Muthu', which ran to packed houses in Japan and earned the southern superstar numerous fans in the Asian nation. This will be the first period film for Rajnikant and stills showing him as a bearded warrior have already heightened expectations.
Oscar-winning musician A R Rahman will be scoring the music for this big budget venture in which Rajnikant's daughter, Soundarya, is the technical director. According to Ravikumar, 'Rana' has a ‘strong story, a very interesting ensemble cast and promises to have some stunning visual effects which will take Indian cinema to the next level.’
The award-winning creative director Charles Darby, who worked on Hollywood blockbusters including ‘Titanic’, the Harry Potter series and ‘Minority Report’, will oversee special effects, it added.
‘Rana will be a live action magnum opus with Rajinikanth playing a triple role,’ the studio said.
The film, due out next year, will be in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, following the successful formula of ‘Endhiran’, which collected 950 million rupees (21 million dollars) in its opening weekend, an Indian box office record.
‘Endhiran’, a science-fiction fantasy, was touted as the most expensive Indian film ever made at 35 million dollars, but there was no indication of the budget for ‘Rana’.
A star of more than 150 films, Rajinikanth, 60, has carved out a niche as a moustachioed action hero.

What makes Katrina look like a copycat?

Katrina Kaif's 'hot' track in upcoming film might well be inspired by one of Deepika's 2009 releases
Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone are headed for yet another showdown.

The Katrina still from Tees Maar Khan has been used for representational purposes

Kat recently shot a song for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan that is supposedly going to knock the socks off Sheila Ki Jawani. It now appears that this number is quite similar in picurisation and setting to Deepika's Chor Bazari from Love Aaj Kal.

Informs our source, "Katrina gets drunk after having bhaang at a highway dhaba  and starts singing and dancing wildly."

In the Love Aaj Kal track Dippy has 'one for the road' before shaking her booty.
Kat has rumouredly called Dippy's item number in Dum Maaro Dum a "thanda" affair as compared to her own Sheila Ki Jawani from Tees Maar Khan.

Not of interest
As reported 'Not interested' (Hitlist, April 22), Kat has stated that she hasn't seen the DMD title track that features Dippy and that it doesn't interest her anyway.

It's anybody's guess how the MBKD track will finally turn out, but what is sure, if sources are to be believed, that the two are not leaving any stone unturned  in upstaging each other.

Shooting the songThe Mere Brother Ki Dulhan song was shot in a dhaba near Jogeshwari. Katrina, Imran Khan and Ali Zafar are travelling on the UP highway and halt at a dhaba to have a meal. Kat and gang have bhaang and get high and start dancing.

Shweta takes split with a smile

Shweta takes split with a smile
Shweta Keswani’s relationship with husband Alex O’Neil is over and she seems to have taken it with a smile. The two were married in 2007 but after a four-year-long marriage they decided to part ways. When we approached Shweta for clarification, she confirmed the news, saying, “Yes, whatever you have heard is true. We have called off our marriage.”
Will it be a story of once bitten twice shy for Shweta? The actress doesn’t conform to the age-old adage. She says, “No. Why should it be so? Of course I will marry again, as soon as I find my man. I have nothing against marriage.” As of now, Shweta is waiting for the July release of her film Bin Bulaye Baarati. “I play Gimmi who is the object of desire of three guys. It’s a character-driven comedy film, which also stars Aftab Shivdasani, Shweta Tiwari and Nisha Kothari. Well, at least it’s keeping the smile intact on Shweta’s face.-

Kalki to marry Anurag Kashyap, won't say when

Actress Kalki Koechlin says she will tie the knot with filmmaker beau Anurag Kashyap this year, but refused to reveal the wedding date as she wants to keep it a private affair.
"Yes, we are getting married this year. I am not going to tell anyone the date, but I am getting married soon," Kalki, who made her Bollywood debut with Kashyap's Dev D (2009), said. The two have been dating each other since.
What took them so long to decide to get married?
Kalki to marry Anurag Kashyap, won't say when
"We are engaged since January this year. When you marry a star, it's really tough to find dates for marriage (laughs)," said Kalki.
The actress, of French descent, will be seen in Bejoy Nambiar's directorial debut Shaitan, which is produced by her fiance. Also, her much-talked about film, The Girl in Yellow Boots, which she has co-written with Kashyap, is also set to release this year.

'I'm not interested!'

That's Katrina Kaif's reaction to Deepika Padukone's item number
One-time rivals in love Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone aren't ready to bury the hatchet and make peace just yet. This time, the bone of contention is their item numbers -- KK's Sheila Ki Jawani and DP's Mit Jaaye Gham. Apparently, Kat has been telling friends what she thinks of Dippy's Dum Maaro Dum number.

Mine is better
Says a source, "Katrina has been telling friends that her song Sheila Ki Jawani (choreographed by Farah Khan and Geeta Kapoor for Tees Maar Khan) was much better than Deepika's song in DMD in every way -- from styling to choreography and the look.

Incidentally, Dippy's song has come under criticism but has connected with the youth upsetting the TMK actress, who was the talk of the town when her song became a chartbuster and she was offered big money to perform at events."
It is but natural that Kat and Dippy will not like each other's songs given their history. So when asked what she thinks about DP's song, she says, "I'm not interested in such things. I haven't seen the film as I have been out of town shooting for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan in Agra."
Prod her on and ask her if she has seen the song and she says, "I have only seen the promos till now and the choreography looks good. Bosco (of Bosco-Ceasar) has choreographed many songs of mine and he's done a great job!" (Note: How she doesn't mention Deepika at all)
Has she been telling friends that her track was hotter than Dippy's? Kat laughs, "I wouldn't do that."
Deepika remained unavailable for comment.

Yana takes off her clothes...

But it's only for an item number in Murder 2

Here's looking at Yana Gupta getting jiggy for Murder 2. She has shed her inhibitions and her clothes for the track Aa Zara Kareeb Se.

Sweating it out: Yana Gupta in Murder 2

The Babujee girl is B-Town's 'in' item girl. After heating things up in Chalo Dilli with Laila O Laila, she faced the heat while shooting for Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt's flick. The shoot was at Chandivali Studios on a non-AC floor and with several unit hands milling around.

Says Yana, "It was very hot as there was no air conditioning. But it was for the Bhatts after all. I loved the team."Director Mohit Suri adds, "It's true that it was very hot but I must say Yana understood the circumstances and co-operated with us that we finally got what we were looking for. Yana worked totally for our song. "

Bipasha Basu was the original choice for the song but as reported 'Bhatts show Bips the door' (Hitlist, March 28), the star's exorbitant demands made the makers rope in Yana instead. "I think Bipasha not doing the song worked in my favour but what's more important is that it worked in favour of the song too!" Yana quips.

Deepika's hot skirt to benefit Salman's charity

Abhishek Bachchan starrer picks Salman Khan's NGO as beneficiary of auction of film costume. PS: Why didn't Ash axe the connection?
Deepika Padukone's skirt goes under the hammer online. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Salman Khan's NGO Being Human. Coincidentally, the film she wears the garment in, is Abhishek Bachchan starrer, Dum Maaro Dum. And AB Jr is married to Sallu's ex Aishwarya Rai.

Says a source, "Producer-director Rohan Sippy came up with the idea of auctioning the skirt online, through the film's official website with support being provided by a portal that auctions film memorabilia. The beneficiary was discussed and the choice was unanimous -- Being Human. They feel it has been involved in some exceptional charity work."
Why Deepika's skirt? "While on a nationwide tour, the DMD team is discovering that while the track itself is being criticised, there is great excitement over the costume that Deepika wears in the music video. There is a huge demand for it," reveals the source.
Rohan Sippy says, "We are all surprised by the reaction to Deepika's look in the track. We decided to auction it for charity." Anushka Manchanda has crooned for the DMD title track Mit Jaaye Gham song that Pritam Chakraborthy composed.
Today's Gal!
Says designer Anahita Shroff Adjania, who was responsible for Deepika's look in the film, "We wanted today's girl at a rave -- barefoot, dancing on the sand, wearing anklets and a white dress. Deepika's blouse made of stretch lycra, looks like a choli and is cut in such a way that the back looks bare. The skirt moves like a subtle shimmer as there are pieces of  metal sheeting in it along with chiffon and is attached to a leather band. Inside, she's wearing a tiny sequined hotpants cut very high. She has a tattoo and feathers in her hair to give her a beach-grunge look."

Sonakshi fights it out over Scrabble

Actors Sonakshi Sinha and Vindu Dara Singh had fun while shooting for Shirish Kunder's Joker in Chandigarh. Both of them used to play scrabble between shots and the competition was tough.
Among the cast and crew, Sonakshi was the best scrabble player, but Vindu was not far behind and used to give her a good fight.
The film also stars Akshay Kumar.
Sonakshi fights it out over Scrabble
"It is always like picnic shooting with Akshay. This time around Sonakshi was with us. She is very good at scrabble. When we played, she always won but, even she agrees with me that I gave her good fight as no could on the set," said Vindu.

Salman has an unexpected visitor on sets of 'Bodyguard'

Kangna Ranaut drops in to meet good friend Salman Khan at a late-night shoot; stays on till the wee hours of the morning

Salman Khan had an unexpected visitor while shooting for Bodyguard on Wednesday night it wasn't SRK, it was Kangna Ranaut!

Kangna Ranaut (left) spotted leaving the sets of Atul Agnihotri's Bodyguard in Filmistan where Salman Khan (above) was shooting. She left in Salman's car in the wee hours of Thursday morning

Apparently, Kangs was out with friends around midnight and made an impromptu detour to meet Salman when she heard that he was shooting at Filmistan Studios.

Four hours
She was seen waiting patiently and chatted with Khan's friends and brother-in-law, producer, Atul Agnihotri. Sallu joined them soon after. Ranaut was on the sets for around four hours and was later spotted leaving in Khan's car.

Their dosti is around a year old. Kangna was to act in Salman's home production directed by Mahesh Manjrekar but script changes got the film shelved.

Kangna was the only actress who attended Salman's wrap-up party at his Panvel farmhouse. Kangna, Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn even made a special appearance for Salman's Ready, at the actor's request during the film's Bangkok schedule.

While there had been reports of Somy Ali and Salman re-establishing their relationship in Bangkok, Sallu and Kangna's midnight rendezvous appears to have put to rest any doubts regarding this special dosti in B-Town!
The two are single and eligible. Watch this space to see where this friendship goes.

SAL HELPS OUT
On February 18, we reported ('With a little help from SK') that Sal had helped Kangs market Tanu Weds Manu at her insistence. The Dabangg star had advised her on how to go about it. He even called the channel heads of Colors and Sony  to drum support for the film on the channel's daily soaps and reality shows.
KEEPIN' CLOSE
On August 16, 2010 ('Kangna in the Khan clan?'), we told you how B-Town was abuzz about the growing dosti between Salman and the Ranaut girl. The two were slowly but surely becoming close and everyone was talking about it, with the bonding being discussed at dinner parties in star homes.

When a beauty queen dares to dream...

Lara Dutta
Lara Dutta turns producer with Challo Dilli. (Screen Photo)

This April-end, the beautiful Lara Dutta will make her debut as a film producer, and enter what is quintessentially a man’s world. There are raised eyebrows and speculations as her first film, Chalo Dilli, which is produced under her banner, Bheegi Basanti and her husband Mahesh Bhupathi’s Big Daddy Productions releases on April 29.

But looking confident and cheerful, the actress, who is seated in Mahesh’s sprawling office, feels it is a film to be looked forward to because “I have always been part of masala films, but Chalo Dilli is the kind of cinema in which I have always believed. It’s the story of two of the most unlikely people coming together on a journey, and being forced to depend on each other. It is not a woman-oriented subject but a story where the female actor has an equally important role as her male co-star,” says the actress.

Her turning producer was not surprising, at least not to herself, because it was a dream she had always nurtured. It was how it came about that was sudden. “When Shashant Shah came to me with the script he wanted me to act in the film. But after the cast and everything were finalised, he did not get a producer for three months. That is when I showed the script to Mahesh who already had his own production house. It was he who came up with the suggestion that we produce it together. A lot of my male counterparts have turned producers, so why should women be left behind? And then there is a serious dearth of good roles for women in our films. At least as a producer I can ensure that I am part of something challenging,” reasons the actress.

Amidst chuckles, Lara elaborates how the name Bheegi Basanti came about. “I am a big Sholay fan and loved the name Basanti and somehow wanted to use it. Naming my production house was a good idea. And I added Bheegi which brings to mind a Hindi film heroine under a waterfall, and suits my mad personality.”

Mahesh and she as co-producers make a good combo thinks Lara, as the sportsperson is business-savvy, while she has a creative mind. And both are film buffs. “I came to know that Mahesh is a huge lover of Hindi films after I got to know him. In fact I was surprised at his knowledge of cinema as he could rattle off the names of directors and music directors of old films. He was very involved with the film,” says the proud wife.

Of course with his hectic schedule as an active sportsperson, Mahesh could not be physically present everywhere with Lara, and that is the time the actress took over completely. “Initially my role was more creative, in terms of scripting and casting, but I got a lot more involved once we went to shoot on locations in Rajasthan, because Mahesh was not there. I had to keep a check on shooting schedules and ensure that they did not go haywire. But it was an interesting experience for me to get into the nitty-gritty of production, after being an actor for a 13-hour-shift,” says the first-time producer.
The most challenging part of being a producer, besides choosing the right subject, cast, music etc. was the finance part. “For me, it became more challenging not because I was a woman, but because I was used to dealing with everyone as an actor. As an artiste I don’t go asking people for the money that they owe me. I have a secretary who does that for me. But as a producer I am responsible for all the technicians who work under me. That part is tough, though I am finding my way around. The easy part was that having been part of the industry for a number of years, I had the connections and the bank of people I needed to make a film,” she says.

As for the kind of films that she would like to produce, it would be a mix of off-beat cinema and the typical masala concoctions. “I want Bheegi Basanti to be known for making interesting films, which are not necessarily your conventional kind. Those are the kind of films that excite me creatively, and as an actor, and today fortunately there is a market for them. Of course I would like to make films with Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan too! And hopefully at some point I can make both simultaneously,” says the actress.

Coming back to Chalo Dilli, what has Lara smiling is her unusual pairing with Vinay Pathak. Not only are they mismatched when it comes to looks, even the kind of cinema they do is different. “I must say that it was really challenging to work with an actor like him. It was the same when I was doing Billu with Irrfan. They have an approach that is different from the commercial actors. Like once Vinay steps into a role he is completely occupied by it, making it extremely convincing. In this film he plays a saree trader from Chandini Chowk, Delhi who is uncouth and obnoxious, and even when the camera was off he would continue behaving like his character Manu Gupta. Watching him changed my approach to acting, and I also started behaving like the rich Mihika, who is ten times more pompous than any person I know! The film has only these two characters and not for a minute could either of us slacken, because that would mean losing the audience. Vinay made sure nothing like that happened.”

As for her doing a television show that is based on Extreme Makeover, Lara said that she is still considering the proposal. “It is an interesting show, but is not based on Extreme Makeover. But television is hard work, something I realised when I did a couple of shows in the US as a judge. For me to take up television, firstly it has to be challenging and secondly it should be short.”
She has no regrets about not being part of Sajid Khan\'s Housefull 2, the sequel to last years hit film, Housefull, which had her playing Riteish Deshmukh\'s wife. “I loved being part of Housefull. It was a great character, but you can pull it to one point. Continuing playing it would have been like flogging a dead horse. But I am looking forward to Don 2, in which my character is extremely sophisticated, and very well thought out by director Farhan Akhtar.”

She is also toying with a film offer, or might just produce another film. “I would even like to direct a film in the future. But as of now I am very excited to see how Chalo Dilli is going to fare. I am thrilled by the response so far,” she says looking pleased.

And how is life after marriage? “The same! I see so little of Mahesh, which was the case even before we got married!”

Minissha Lamba is back in her bikini

Minissha Lamba is back in her bikini
She had grabbed headlines with her bikini clad magazine cover two years ago and Bollywood beauty Minissha Lamba is back for an encore.
The actress is the new cover girl of men's magazine Man's World and is dressed in a floral bikini accessorised with a surf board on the publication's front page.
The 26-year-old shot for the spread on the sunny beaches of Goa, dressed in a variety of bikinis and also posed for some underwater shots.
"I am a beach person and I love sports. I got to kite surf during the shoot and I really enjoyed that," said the actress who had made her debut playing a Kashmiri girl in the 2005 film Yahaan.
Bikinis and actresses have been in news recently but for the wrong reasons as both Sonakshi Sinha and Vidya Balan had threatened to sue magazines for allegedly photoshopping their pictures to look like they had posed in swimsuits.
But Minissha has no qualms about it and had earlier donned a barely there bikini for the cover of Maxim's October 2009 cover.

Mallika takes on Malaika, Katrina!

http://www.mid-day.com/imagedata/2011/apr/ms455.jpg

Move over Malaika and Katrina, Mallika Sherawat is here.

In what seems like an open challenge at the throne of the two hottest Bollywood item queens, Mallika Sherawat danced to an item song at Yashraj Studios, whose words blatantly mocked Katrina and Malaika's twin triumphs.

Mallika sang, "Munni bhi maani aur Sheila bhi maani, Shalu ke thumke ki duniya deewani."
Apparently the "Munni" and "Sheila" choreographer was approached to do Mallika's "Shalu ke thumke." But Farah Khan begged off, saying she only choreographs for very close family friends.
According to a source, the lyrics were originally quite different for the song.
"By openly singing that she's better than 'Munni' and 'Sheila,' Mallika is sending out a clear signal to the entertainment industry. It was Mallika who wanted the Munni-Sheila element incorporated into the song. Composer Anand Raj Anand modified the tune accordingly," the source said.
"Mallika wants to position herself as the No.1 item queen of Bollywood. She feels her 'Maiyya maiyya' in 'Guru' came long before 'My name is Sheila' and 'Munni badnaam.' This year she has already performed two item songs and is open to more," added the source.
What's more, her image as the tantrum queen is now a thing of the past. While shooting for "Munni bhi maani Sheila bhi maani", Mallika was the epitome of good behaviour.

BCCI didn't allow me to strip: Poonam Pandey

Poonam Pandey
Poonam Pandey
Model Poonam Pandey who went into hiding after getting threats for her strip-for-win plan, is now back on the radar. She surfaces to give her side of the story. And answering the burning questions. Excerpts from the interview...

You didn't strip naked when Team India won. In fact, no one could trace you. Why make false promises?

I feared for my life. I had even given my manager a letter to send to the BCCI to allow me to strip privately as public stripping is a crime, but they didn't allow me. I couldn't have just hit the road and got naked because people wanted to see me do that. It was supposed to be fun but it took an ugly turn. I was threatened. I switched off my cell and tried to figure out my next step and how to deal with the court case. I went underground but I didn't flee the city.

This publicity gimmick certainly worked for you.
Let's not tag it as that. I did strip for a TV channel to show that I was serious. I got an offer to pose nude on the cover of a magazine and they were giving me half a billion rupees, but I didn't do it. I could have used this as a gimmick too, no? Yes, thanks to the spotlight, I've got a film offer and TV shows which I'm contemplating.

We hear a reality show is happening.

The channel people are floating such rumours. They had offered it to me but I haven't said yes to them. I need a great offer to make me interested.

The threats forced you to leave your house?
I don't stay with my parents anymore. I have taken a place of my own in Goregaon. That's also because my work area is closer from here. I'm bearing the brunt of my decision all by myself rather than making my parents go through this. My parents were mighty upset with me for doing something like this but they are slowly understanding it. Things are fine between us now.

Your boyfriend also deserted you after your decision?
I'm single and happy. I don't want to discuss my personal life. (BTW her social network profile still reads that she is in a relationship.)

Ram Gopal Verma's film on real life murder

RGV film A Love Story based on sensational murder case. Ironically, the film's tagline is 'from the heart'
Ram Gopal Varma's next, A Love Story is based on the story of aspiring model and actor Maria Susairaj, who is facing trial in the Neeraj Grover murder case.
Exciting emotions
Says Ramu, "What excited me about the story were the emotions involved. It's about two people in love who got caught up in a rollercoaster emotional ride due to certain circumstances.

It was love, which drove them to chop the victim's body. It was love, which turned them into such dreadful souls."
Ramu intends to explore every facet of the case. "Till now the media has been disgusted and horrified about the incident and has covered it as such.
I want to recreate what actually happened and get the audience to get into the mindset of the characters as if the scenes are playing out in front of their own eyes."
Research work
The filmmaker has already done his research for the film. He says, "I have met cops and done my research on the film. Everything is in place."
The film's tagline? "From the heart, but is not for the faint hearted!"
As reported yesterday 'Gill is RGV's girl',  only Mahie Gill has been finalised for the project yet.

Emile Jerome Mathew and Maria Susairaj

Neeraj Grover
Dark Tale
Maria Susairaj has been behind bars since May 2008. She was arrested on charges of plotting the murder of a creative director Neeraj Grover. Her boyfriend, Emile Jerome Mathew, was also arrested and is lodged at the Taloja jail. The two allegedly stabbed Grover to death, dismembered his body and then burnt it in a forest.

Rani Mukerji seems to be in need of an anti-perspirant

Rani Mukerji seems like the latest B-Towner in need of an anti-perspirant. The actress showed up to a jewellery event decked in a regal blue outfit but it seems the balmy weather got the better of her. A giant sweat stain made the blue dress get a deeper hue near her armpits.

Maybe, Asin could help the No One Killed Jessica actress out. She does endorse an anti-perspirant, after all. Been there, suffered that... and all that.

Poonam Pandey finally strips

http://english.samaylive.com/pics/article/poonam_lead_3_1302147411.jpg

Model Poonam Pandey, who is too eager to go nude for Team India, striped for a photo shoot for an entertainment channel.

She striped down to her bikini for an exclusive photo shoot for a famous entertainment channel.

Poonam has been discharged from the hospital where she was operated for her Kidney stones.

Her publicist maintains that Poonam is committed to strip and is waiting for BCCI’s permission to do so.

She last tweeted that “Be content to act but leave the talking to others”.

Earlier, Poonam had said that she would go nude for Team India if it wins the World Cup tournament.

She had written a letter to BCCI seeking permission to allow her to strip for Team India. She even suggested BCCI that Paris would be the best place for her striptease as her Full Monty show in India would trigger several controversies.

The whole nation is waiting for Poonam to strip.

This time it's headed to small-town India
Ekta Kapoor's Ragini MMS promises a lot sex, lovemaking, semi-nudity and the supernatural.

Supposedly, a no-holds-barred film, the posters are all about shock value. After releasing one poster recently, the Balaji czarina has released  another. And this one will not just be released in urban areas but also the hinterland.

Says a source, "The posters  have shocking visuals. It is non-apologetically in your face and is sure to be bolder than Love Sex Dhokha. Ekta's confidence in Ragini can be seen in the decisions she's taking to market the film."

Says Ekta, "It's a two-pronged promotional campaign for cities and smaller towns. Ragini MMS will be the scariest date movie in India so far. It has the ultimate catchphrase 'They didn't know it then, but it was a threesome!'

One poster will be released in cities while the other will release in the interiors."

She describes her strategy, "We want to woo the urban and rural youth. Everything from the horror to the lovemaking is real.

We even have footage of how young couples talk in their bedrooms. The film was made in Rs 1.5 crore but I am  excited about it. I have increased the publicity expenditure by over Rs 2 crore."

Kareena upset with Deepika

Kareena Kapoor upset about Deepika Padukone spreading rumours that she was original choice for a track in Ra.One
Having an actress pitted against another has become the rage nowadays. The latest lass to bite the bait is Deepika Padukone, who has Kareena Kapoor in the opposite end of the ring.

Kareena Kapoor in Ra.One and Deepika Padukone in Dum Maaro Dum

Says a source, "Recently, Dippy has been telling anyone willing to hear that she was the original choice for the Chamak Challo dance number in Ra.One and that producer Shah Rukh Khan had her in mind for the item number.

And that Bebo threw a fit when she heard of it. Kapoor is upset and feels Dippy is only doing this to gain mileage from the Dum Maaro Dum title track."

A source close to Bebo insists, "Chamak Challo is not even an item number. Kareena is the film's heroine and the song is part of the story so how can Deepika even be considered?

These rumours amuse Bebo. DP may be spreading this rumour as her DMD track isn't the hit it was touted to be."

Ra.One director Anubhav Sinha says, "We never approached Deepika for an item song. Chamak Challo is an integral part of the story.

The song will be catchy, glamorous and sexy but it's not an item song, which are usually random additions that don't need a story."

SOMETHING SIMILAR...
Not too long ago, Katrina Kaif was supposedly pitting herself against Bebo, who shrugged it off even then. The 'catfight' died a natural death.

'I'm still on with my commitment': Poonam Pandey

http://www.mid-day.com/imagedata/2011/apr/04poonamp.jpg
For all those who have been wondering what happened to Poonam Pandey's vow to strip and run in the buff after India's victory in the World Cup final, here's some dope - the young model hints that she will fulfil her pledge soon.

"Thanx a Lot All for ur Support!! I am Still on with My Commitments Stay TUNED," Pandey posted on her Twitter page Monday.

The 19-year-old, who participated in last year's Gladrags' model hunt contest, offered to go nude for the cricket team just before the semifinal against Pakistan in Mohali.

But later, she issued a statement saying she would go ahead with her promise only if the BCCI permits.

Yuvi's special guest: Ameesha Patel

Ameesha Patel was the cricketer's special guest at the World Cup final!
Cricketer Yuvraj Singh gave Ameesha Patel special tickets to the World Cup finals between India and Sri Lanka at Wankhede stadium.

With that one stroke, the all-rounder must've broken several hearts. That said, given the long line of B-Town beauties on Yuvi's arm, is Ameesha the latest maiden to be bowled over? It sure seems to be.

Ameesha confirms, "Yuvi is a good friend and he invited me." And if there was any doubt about her special dosti with the cricketer, the words of gushing praise give a clear indication.

"Yuvi bowled, fielded and batted superbly on Saturday.

When he almost got run out I screamed the loudest! Saif (Ali Khan) and Ranbir (Kapoor), who were in the same box, looked at me as if I was mad because I was making them so nervous."

The actress sat in the specially reserved ICC Hospitality Box near the pavilion says, "People kept asking me to quiet down as I was the most boisterous. I kept shouting for Yuvi to play stably."

She wanted to meet Yuvraj after the end of play, but the crowds were hysterical by then. "It took me three hours to get home," she says.

Them, Too
Ameesha was worried for other India players as well...

GAUTAM GAMBHIR:
"We all wanted him to complete his 100 and all stood up and clapped when he got out as he played fabulously."

SACHIN TENDULKAR:
"I find him too cute. When he got out, we all thought we had lost the match."
She shows love for the opposition as well...

LASITH MALINGA:
"I just love him. I'm dying to meet him and give him a hug and a kiss. I find him very interesting and unconventional."

The Boss Mustang is hitting the streets once again in the form of the track-oriented Boss 302 unveiled at the Rolex Historic Races at Laguna Seca. According to the company, the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 is the “quickest, best-handling straight-production Mustang ever offered by Ford.” It pays homage to its track-star forebears by lightening and strengthening key components, juicing up the engine, and wrapping it all in the vintage color schemes that Boss Mustangs are known for still today.

While the ’69 Boss 302 may be the stuff of legends, by modern standards, its (claimed) 290 hp at 5800 and 290 lb-ft of torque at 4300 rpm is less power and only marginally more torque than the 2011 Mustang’s V-6, never mind the brawny V-8 powering the GT. In the Boss, the GT’s 5.0-liter is upgraded with new intake runners, revised camshafts, and more aggressive engine controls, raising output from the 412 hp to 440. Torque drops slightly, from 390 lb-ft to 380.

One of the most interesting features of the 2012 Boss 302 is its quad exhaust system, developed to give the car a unique sound. The two primary pipes exiting the rear handle most of the exhaust gases, while two smaller pipes branch off from the exhaust crossover and exit discreetly along the lower body sides, just in front of the rear wheels, sending gases through a set of metal discs that generate unique sounds. Should the owner live somewhere with more lax noise regulations, the plates can easily be removed in favor of aftermarket dump valves.

The 302’s black-painted wheels measure 19 by 9 inches in front and 19 by 9.5 in back; wrapped by 255/40 front and 285/35 rear Pirelli PZeros. The GT’s optional Brembo brakes are upgraded with high-performance pads and unique ABS calibration.

Ford’s performance claims for the 2012 Boss 302 include cornering capability in excess of 1.0 g, shorter stopping distances than provided by the GT—even with its available brake upgrade—and a 155-mph top speed. Ford declined to provide acceleration figures, but the 302 should handily beat the 2011 Mustang GT’s marks of 4.6 seconds from standstill to 60 mph and 13.2 seconds through the quarter-mile at 109 mph. Whatever the time, it will certainly best the ’69 Boss 302’s 6.5 seconds to 60 and 14.9-second quarter-mile at 93 mph. (That seemed much faster back then.)
