Frieda Pinto: Accepted by Hollywood not Bollywood

Frieda Pinto may be popular abroad but the actress claims she is virtually unknown in India. "I have done no film in India so it is very hard for people to accept me as an actress. They don't really know who I am or they probably don't take me too seriously," she told the New York Times in a recent interview. The actress received international acclaim with her performance in Slumdog Millionaire which was a hit abroad but failed to create waves in India. While the actress is now working in international cinema, she has yet to receive any offers from India.

"I haven't been directly approached to do a Bollywood film. After Slumdog Millionaire I was given scripts to read but was not directly approached. I don't think I fit the bill," she claimed. The actress believes that she has not been accepted by her own country but by Hollywood more so. "They definitely have accepted me much more willingly than in India. I am not famous in India. I don't get chased around," she believes.

Pinto will next been seen in Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger and The Rise Of Apes, both of which are Hollywood films.

Soha Ali Khan MMS

MMS scandal is the latest trend of attacking Bollywood actresses. Many young actresses have been scandalized with MMS clips. Now, it seems Soha Ali Khan, the lil sis of Saif Ali Khan is being targeted by the MMS.

Reportedly, Soha went to a beauty salon for a full body waxing. She was at her ease, completely unaware of the hidden cameras that caught her undressed. Allegedly, in some photos, Soha even appeared in a piece of towel. The video supposedly covered both ‘pre’ and ‘post’ waxing sessions of Soha.

Sources suggest that, it was a salon attendant, who leaked the MMS. An unknown website then got the hold of it and now the clips are on high demand. Soha’s hot MMS will be available for $20 to $30.

I’ve broken up with Katrina, says Salman Khan

Mumbai: It’s official - Salman and Katrina have split up and have gone separate ways. After endless speculations and numerous reports that suggested a tiff between the couple, Salman Khan has for the first time admitted that he has “broken up with Katrina”.

Not willing to divulge details that led to the break-up, Salman, in a TV interview, candidly stated that he and Katrina are very much passé and have been so for some time now.

And even though this is the first time that any of the two have openly admitted to their break-up, the reports of a split have been doing rounds for long now. No wonder then, Katrina in a recent interview to Spicezee was averse to speaking about Salman and has been spotted getting uncomfortable talking about Sallu at several media events.

As for what Salman said in the interview, here goes:

“I’ve broken up with Katrina. We were friends then for everybody, we are friends now... Koi cheez tootati hai toh isliye kyonki ya toh different ways chali gayi, ya ek shakhs ki growth nahin hui, ya ek ne kuch aur path chun liya, ya sensibility samajh mein nahi aati ... It’s just people not getting along, something that doesn’t end peacefully. But if you can manage to stay friends, there’s nothing like it.”

Well, considering Salman has always maintained amicable relations with his former lovers, leaving Aishwarya, here’s hoping Sallu and Kat stay pals.

Steamy scenes of Kalki leaked online

Anurag Kashyap and Kalki Koechlin are upset after some explicit scenes of their film That Girl In Yellow Boots got leaked online. The scenes are featured on Kalki.

The film is apparently scripted by the couple and Kalki also plays the lead actress in the film. That Girl In Yellow Boots was selected for a premiere at the Venice Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival. Apparently the scenes were leaked after the screening.

The scenes leaked show bold sexual scenes and offensive dialogues. Both Kalki and Anurag are disturbed with the news. That Girl In Yellow Boots is a thriller film about Ruth who is in search of her father. In order to be independent in Mumbai she takes up a job as a masseuse while continuing her quest to find her father.

Freida Pinto Starrer Miral To Compete In Venice Film Festival

Miral, an upcoming French film starring Indian actress Freida Pinto is going to take part in the Venice Festival andcompete for the Golden Lion trophy.

This is the first project of Frieda after debuting in the Academy Award winning movie Slumdog Millionaire. Oscar nominated director Julian Schnabel has directed the movie, where Frieda plays the title role of Miral, who is a Palestinian orphan. The movie is adapted from the book of the Italo-Palestinian author Rula Jebreal.

A press statement informed us that 22 films are competing for the esteemed ‘Golden Lion trophy’ awrad at the 68th edition of the Venice Film festival.

The story in the book is about Hind Husseini, the woman who opened the ‘Dar Al-Tifl’ orphanage in Jerusalem following the 1948 partition of Palestine which gave birth to the state of Israel.

Freida will be seen as a teenaged Miral, who a joins the struggle after seeing the effects of Israeli campaigns. Her co-star Omar Metwally plays an Israeli activist. The trailer ofthe movie was released last month.

The Venice festival will be held from September 1 to 11.
