Freida Pinto wanted to be a Michael Jackson impersonator

http://ptinews.com/pti_cms/gall_content/2010/11/2010_11$largeimg227_Nov_2010_123547890.jpgSlumdog Millionaire' star Freida Pinto always wanted to be an actress when she was a kid and thought she made a 'great' Michael Jackson impersonator.

The Mumbai-born actress, who shot to worldwide fame with the Oscar-winning movie used to imitate dance steps of the late 'King of Pop' in front of her mirror, Contactmusic reported.

"I have dreamt since I was the age of five that I wanted to become an actress. I didn't know that I would do it professionally. But I knew that this was my area of interest.

"I would stand in front of the mirror and for the longest time I really thought that I was a great Michael Jackson impersonator," said the 26-year-old actress.

Apart from dreaming of a career in the spotlight, Pinto spent much of her childhood globe-trotting and is grateful for the opportunities she had.

"Both my grandfather and my uncle were in the army, which meant we travelled a lot. As an army man, you keep getting posted in different places, so we'd use that as an opportunity to visit them and see new places," she added.

Fans misbehave with Sonakshi

Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi Sinha More Pics
The Dabangg actress was in for a rude shock on Thursday evening, when a group of boys walked up too close to her and tried to misbehave.

The incident has left the actress quite shaken up. It happened at the Gandhi garden near Mantralaya in South Mumbai, where three NGOs from the city paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the 26/11 carnage two years ago.

Sonakshi's bouncers immediately rushed her out of the premises to a safety zone. She was immediately tucked into her car that sped away in no time. They say Sonakshi was in tears when she eventually got into her car.

An eyewitness told Mumbai Mirror, "The miscreants were too brash and rowdy. They came too close to Sonakshi. Everything was fine when Sonakshi entered the premises at 4.25 pm. She sat through the event for an hour. It was only when she got up to leave that the scene turned ugly.

Explaining chronologically, the witness said, "Sonakshi was quietly leaving the event around 5.30 pm when suddenly a large group of people began following her. Most of these people seemed to be her fans, but a few miscreants who had been lurking around all this while, cut throught he crowd to reach her."

Sensing a big crowd behind her, Sonakshi apparently hastened her strides but the mob was relentless. While saying things like 'Idhar dekho na, hamse baat karo na', some of those guys walked up to her and touched her on her arms and shoulder. Added the witness, "Their behaviour was disgusting and that too at an event where the police bandobast was at its best."

While Sonakshi remained unavailable for comment, her manager said, "The mob's behaviour was simply unacceptable. They created a big ruckus, completely disrespecting the speakers on stage. They even fell over and hit each other." Wait till Sallu hears of this.

Veena is a bookie

http://l1.yimg.com/t/images/veenamlk_0709_30.jpgNew Delhi, Nov 11 : Indian photo-journalist Dheeraj Dikshit, who had been accused of being involved in spot-fixing by Veena Malik, today claimed that the Pakistani actor is a "bookmaker", managing seven of her country''s top players, and demanded the Ministry of External Affairs to immediately cancel her visa. Malik, who is participating in the reality TV show Bigg Boss-4 on Colors channel, had accused Dikshit of being involved in match-fixing and remaining in touch with her ex-boyfriend Mohammad Asif.

Pakistan speedster Asif is currently suspended by the ICC pending a disciplinary hearing into allegations of spot-fixing during the Lord''s Test in August. "I have written a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs, demanding the cancellation of her visa.

I don''t want her to remain in India for a minute. She has tarnished my image, left me unemployed.

"It''s an assassination of my character. I am not being able to pay attention towards anything.

I want the government to take defiant action against Veena," said an angry Dheeraj. "The Colors channel is portraying her like a big celebrity.

How can you cast a characterless person in any Indian show? One needs to understand she tried to drag an Indian national into the murky world of betting and fixing. She is a criminal, a match-fixer," claimed the controversial photographer.

Dikshit, who accepted he was close to pace bowler Asif professionally, revealed that it was in the month of January this year that he got a call from the model-turned-actress in Dhaka. "I have never met her and during our first interaction, she tried to become very friendly.

Before calling me, she called me at my Delhi number 4-5 times which my wife answered. My wife gave her my Dhaka number and on the very first note, she started flirting with me.

"Veena was aware of the fact that I was good friends with Asif and so she contacted me. She said we could strike a big deal if I wish so.

She said she is managing seven top players and to substantiate her claims, she told me the results of Pakistan''s upcoming series with Australia, Sri Lanka and England. Later, I found, her claims were all true," said Dheeraj.

The photographer also claimed that Mazhar Majeed, the man at the centre of the spot-fixing controversy that engulfed the Lord''s Test, was Veena''s London-based boyfriend and known and dated each other on and off for three years. "She used to say that Maz is her London-based boyfriend.

Later I realised that ''Maz'' is Mazhar Majeed who used to get endorsement deal for the players," he said. Dikshit, who is contemplating legal action against Veena, also alleged that he is receiving death threats from an unknown number on his mobile phone.

Veena Malik seen canoodling in Compromising Position ?

http://www.cinehour.com/gallery/gossip/24820915veen.jpgThis is something you will never see on TV and definitely ‘NEVER’ see on Colors. If you are lucky enough and the channel owners are fair enough then may be you can see a glimpse of this footage. The Hidden cameras with in the Big Boss House has captured some shocking footage of veena malik and a male inmate getting cozy or may be more than that. This footage may be censored and edited before presenting it to the viewers but the in-house reporters have seen this eye popping scene in the original videos where Pakistani actress Veena Malik is in a compromising position with a male inmate in the house. We are not able to disclose the name of the male inmate caught in Veena Malik’s arms.

The couple seems to be unaware of the cameras, which led them to get real close and personal. Then suddenly the male partner noticed a camera pointed at them and broke away. The 2 minutes of footage was really explosive. The couple were smooching and fondling each other unmindful of the world around them. There were more things that happened, that like we said we cannot print. We leave the rest to your imagination. Or watch it on Colors, 9 pm without fail. We doubt they will show you this explosive footage though.

"The ST will be the performance flagship of our new Focus range, and we are excited to provide our enthusiast customers with an early preview in Paris," said Gunnar Herrmann, Ford Motor Company's Global C-car Vehicle Line Director. "The ST represents an ultimate expression of Focus driving quality and performance and we are confident that the new model will strengthen the reputation of Ford's ST heritage among enthusiast drivers and attract new fans as well."

"The new Focus ST will be our first true global performance vehicle and we are excited about the chance to give many customers worldwide their first taste of Ford's acclaimed ST heritage," said Jost Capito, Director of Global Performance Vehicles. "Like the ST and RS models before it, the Focus ST will be the result of painstaking tuning around the curves of the Nürburgring, along high-speed German autobahns, and down classic British B-roads.
•Pure performance delivered by unique 250 PS version of new 2.0-litre Ford EcoBoost four-cylinder petrol engine
•Over 10 per cent more power and torque than the current European Focus ST, but fuel consumption and CO2 emissions cut by more than 20 per cent
•Lowered chassis and unique suspension tuning to deliver acclaimed ST handling agility and poise
•5-door ST show car for Paris features dramatic ‘Tangerine Scream' body colour, reflecting new ST's exciting and energetic character
The exciting next-generation Ford Focus ST makes its global debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, providing an early preview of the new high-performance model which will be introduced around the world in 2012.

Succeeding the turbocharged 2.5-litre five-cylinder unit of the current European model, this unique 250 PS Ford EcoBoost engine is being specially developed for the new Focus ST to ensure that the car gets the muscular performance - and the inspirational sound - which it deserves. It also marks the first application of the four-cylinder Ford EcoBoost engine in a high performance model.

Compared to the 2.0-litre Ford EcoBoost engine used in other Ford vehicles, the 250 PS unit features re-designed intake and exhaust systems and a unique engine calibration to deliver the desired level of power and responsiveness. The engine retains the strong torque delivery which is a feature of Ford EcoBoost designs, with a broad, flat torque curve offering a maximum output of 360 Nm.

One of a completely new generation of downsized, high-efficiency, low-CO2 petrol engines from Ford, the 2.0-litre Ford EcoBoost is a lightweight, all-aluminium design which combines three technologies - high-pressure direct injection, low-inertia turbocharging and twin independent variable cam timing - to create an advanced combustion system which brings new levels of performance and fuel efficiency to petrol engines in this power range.

This ultra efficient 250 PS engine therefore not only delivers over 10 per cent more power and torque than the current 2.5-litre unit, it is also estimated to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by more than 20 per cent.

The seats are finished in high-quality Charcoal Black leather, offset by bold orange gold panels in a neoprene fabric and vibrant yellow-gold contrast stitching. The central Charcoal Black fabric seat panels feature a rugged embossed design in the style of a performance tyre tread pattern. The rear Recaro seats are finished in the same distinctive style.

The premium sports feel of the cabin is enhanced by a generous use of Charcoal Black leather with vibrant yellow-gold contrast stitching on many of the interior surfaces, including the seats, door panels, central armrest, steering wheel, gearshift gaiter and the top of the instrument binnacle.

•European production starts in Saarlouis, Germany at the end of 2010 prior to sales launch in early 2011; current Focus to continue production in Valencia, Spain until mid-2011 to satisfy market demand

Ford has promised to add a performance Focus model to the next-generation line-up, and at Paris the company is previewing how that model will look when introduced in 2012. The exciting new Focus ST model is revealed at Paris and its 250 PS Ford EcoBoost powerplant will deliver driving enjoyment designed to match its outstanding looks.

The dynamic quality of the exterior is reinforced by the distinctive design of the interior. The new Focus has a modern, cockpit-style interior, with the stylish centre console wrapped around the driver and providing outstanding access to the vehicle's major controls and display panels.

The interior combines outstanding functionality with outstanding craftsmanship. The cabin's bold and contemporary graphics, the sculptured shape of the soft-touch instrument panel and the choice of superior trim materials all help to give occupants the feeling that they are travelling in a premium-class car.

The new Focus Wagon on show in Paris with its interior for the first time enhances this premium feel still further by featuring a leather interior package from the exclusive range of Ford Individual vehicle personalisation options which are being specially developed for the new model.

Leading the petrol engine range is the brand new 1.6-litre Ford EcoBoost unit, which is available in 150 PS and 180 PS versions.

One of a completely new generation of downsized, high-efficiency, low-CO2 petrol engines from Ford, the 1.6-litre Ford EcoBoost is a lightweight, all-aluminium design which combines three technologies - a centrally-mounted high-pressure direct injection system, low-inertia turbocharging and twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT) - to create an advanced combustion system which brings new levels of performance and fuel efficiency to petrol engines in this power range.

This powerful combination of technologies makes it possible for the 1.6-litre Ford EcoBoost engine to deliver the strong low-end torque and responsive performance of a large capacity engine, but with the size, weight and fuel economy of a much smaller unit.

Both 150 PS and 180 PS variants combine impressive peak power with pulling power at low engine speeds which matches that of the latest-generation diesel engines, with the
180 PS unit delivering maximum torque of 240 Nm from 1,600 to 5,000 rpm, with 270 Nm available during hard acceleration via the transient overboost feature.

In the Focus five-door, the 180 PS Ford EcoBoost engine achieves a top speed of 222 km/h (138 mph) and a 0-100km/h (62 mph) time of 7.9 seconds, while still returning impressive average fuel consumption of 6.0 litres/100 km (47 mpg) and CO2 emissions of 139g/km.

105 PS/125 PS 1.6-litre Ford Duratec Ti-VCT
The petrol engine line-up in the Focus also includes Ford's proven 1.6-litre Duratec
Ti-VCT unit with outputs of 105 PS and 125 PS.
